Into the Midlands

I'm at Chipping Campden at the north end of the Cotswold Way, getting ready or a day that will take me past 400 miles and finally into the Midlands. Stephen appeared off the late train from London to Moreton-in-Marsh and Amy and Dom arrive on the 10am bus - so good company for the day that finally leaves the south west behind. And going well - just! A slight mishap just hours after the blogpost - crossing an immensely busy roundabout on the Cotswold Way outside Cheltenham, I broke into a run with my rucksack to evade an artic and calf muscles did not like it. So I limped in for the rendevous with Mum and Jane at Crichley Hill. Mum was able to walk a short way with me at Crichley Hill- a lovely achievement. And then three nights two days of welcome rest and relaxation at Cheltenham. Then two more days to take me to Chipping Campden - a day of good conversation and catching up with Meg over Cleeve Hill and a day of lone walking, old abbeys and pretty villages to this very attractive (and expensive!) little town.

(Later - in the front garden of the 'Cottage of Content at Bidford-on-Avon) Yes, in the Midlands now! A very pleasant day in gentle middle England, with a picnic on Meon Hill, Amy's lemon cake and last views of the Vale of Evesham.
